Spotify lyrics workflow checklist: before and after using LyricSide
Use this checklist to decide where LyricSide belongs in your daily Spotify listening routine.
Before you install another tool
A useful lyrics extension should remove friction from how you already listen, not create a new app to manage. Before installing, name the repeated annoyance you want gone — usually it's 'I keep leaving the player to look up lyrics.'
For Spotify, that means staying on the web player tab, reading lyrics in a side panel, and never copy-pasting a timestamp again.
The lightweight checklist
Run through these checks during your first few sessions with LyricSide. If most answers are yes, the workflow is worth keeping.
- Do the lyrics appear in a side panel without leaving the player tab?
- Does the panel auto-scroll and highlight the line currently playing?
- Can you toggle the sidebar in one click when you want the full player?
- Is the line you're hearing easy to find without scrubbing?
What to measure
Measure tab switches and context switches removed, not just clicks. A good lyrics workflow feels quieter: one tab, one panel, eyes on the current line.
